42 : Curly Fries

# 5 large peeled white potatoes
# 2 cups water (soak potatoes, so they do not turn brown)
# 1 cup all purpose flour
# 1 tsp salt
# 1 tsp garlic powder
# 2 tsp paprika
# 2 tbs french onion salad dressing & seasoning mix (Hidden Valley)
# 1 cup peanut or vegetable oil for frying 


Slice potatoes into french fries, or use a curly fry cutter (Used in photo above) (presto curly fry cutter), and place cut potatoes into cold water so they don't turn brown, while preparing the oil. Heat oil in large skillet or in deep fryer over medium high heat. While oil is heating sift flour, garlic powder, french onion dip and paprika into a medium size bowl. Pur into a zip lock plastic bag. Shake bag with a handful of potatoe slices or curls at a time. Place into heat oil with a tong and make sure the fries are separated, so they are not clumped together. Fry until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
